Steve Cruz Director?

This is not artwork from the upcoming feature, just a graphic I created for today's post

Cut!!!
Funny story... I was having sex with a fuck buddy one night and we were both a little tipsy on Petron shots. He was doing something I didn't really like (maybe he tried to stick me in the pucker without a condom?) and I think I actually yelled "cut!" in the middle of the action. I meant it as a joke but I said it before thinking. He was wrecked! We still laugh about it now...

Well... love him or hate him, you all know Steve Cruz the performer...
but this week I announce a new career path... Steve Cruz the director. Some of you have commented on how quiet the blog has been... now you know why. And I'm not alone! I've forged ahead in a new creative partnership with 12 year industry veteran Leif Gobo. As "guest directors" for Falcon Studios Mustang line, I think we'll make the perfect team.

Leif and I met on the set of Limits, a picture he directed for Mustang to much critical acclaim. We hit it off instantly. Later we found that we share a similar vision for how movies should be made.

Blue Movie
Our first project "Blue Movie" goes into production in September.
Its the first of a series of All Sex movies, no plot, no dialogue... something new for me. On the set of Hotter Than Hell, I quickly realized what an undertaking a plot driven movie can be. I'll start exploring ways to tell a story that don't rely on dialogue.

"Blue Movie" is my homage to our porn heritage, the films of the 70's and 80's. Though the films of those days were pre condom, it is a 100% safe sex movie. We'll reference what we love about the past but it will completely relevant to today. I have hand picked a stellar cast, some are my porn idols, some of my favorite guys in the industry today and some are the stars of tomorrow... Steve Cruz fans should keep a watch on newcomer Colton Steele. He looks like a hybrid between myself and Tag Adams... and from what I hear his performances are just as piggy. The movie stars Dillon Buck, Nick Piston, CJ Madison and features the return of Zak Spears.

"Blue Movie" will not star Steve Cruz. The decision to become a director was not to create a vehicle for myself to stay in the spotlight as a performer. I have been featured front and center in a long long string of successful movies. I love performing but its time to focus my all energy toward developing my creative projects. I've done pretty much everything I can think of on camera and its time to let some other boys have a chance, and give myself a much needed break. I look forward to helping new boys discover their star power. If and when I decide to return to performing, I'll pick my projects well... and I will not direct myself.

Accolades:
I wanted to give a special shout out to the people who have laid the foundation for this golden opportunity. Without them I wouldn't be here. Chris Ward, Kent Taylor and Ben Leon at Raging Stallion for the bulk of my production knowledge. they groomed me for this next big step and sent me on my way with their blessing. Chi Chi LaRue is perhaps my biggest cheerleader and her vast experience and knowledge helps me make sound decisions as I move forward. Troy Prickett at Falcon Studios for seeing this great potential and making it happen. And last but not least Brian Mills at Titan. Over the past 10 years I have absorbed his random stories from the set like a sponge. I credit him most with giving me the courage to take certain leaps of faith... the encouragement to become a performer in the first place... and by his example as I watched him rise from photographer to director himself– going on to make some of the most beautiful and sexiest movies ever made. (And an emotional acknowledgement to my angel RK who watches over me. Its uncanny how parallel our lives have become, just on different timelines. I miss you.)

Look for "Blue Movie" to release in December 2008.
It will be available on my website and also on Falcon's website.

I haven't seen a movie with you in it, (and pardon my directness) that focuses on your hot hairy ass.....watching it being played with, eaten....up close. I could be watching the wrong movies....

Great news, even if it means we'll see less of you. Mind you, if we see more of Dillon Buck (bearded, please), that will be some compensation. He's a real hot guy, mainly because he seems so ordinary. And I mean that in the best way.

Steve, you are going to make a great director. Your perfection in all you do will help make it all work perfectly. We will all miss seeing you perform in front of the cameras, and hopefully in time you will return to that. I'd wish you luck in the future with this, but luck is outweighed by your talents. As someone once said: "You're gonna make it after all."

So, let me ask? Are we never going to see you in front of the camera again?

Steve Cruz XXX said...

Not sure. I don't want to stop performing but I kind of feel like I have had my time. So for now I am "retiring" my on screen persona to focus on bring my vision to light. You never know with me... but for now I can't think that far ahead.

So Hotter Than Hell MAY be the last.

Ive been gone way too long and I come back to read an interview on gaypornblog about your semi retirement. :(

Altho I'll miss seeing you on screen I'm sure you'll keep us entertained from behind it as well.

I don't know if HERE is the place for this comment, but the moderate can moderate. Listen up, guys: our friend Steve needs and has asked for help about those couple of "anti-Steve" posts on the gay blog. So get to it and get on the site and shoot down the flamin' queens in flames and let 'em know that we know better. Mr. Cruz has given us so much; now we have the chance to return some of his kindness. And while you're at it, got on the best website and blog link and vote pro-Steve at every chance. We love ya', Steve.
