Where in the world is Steve Cruz?

Charlotte NC

To Manhunt or not to Manhunt, that is the question.
You know I was conflicted about coming to Charlotte for many reasons. We all know how my last visit to the bible belt went... and then there is the business of Manhunt ex-chairman Jonathan Crutchley, donating $2300 to the McCain for President campaign. Now I know founder Larry Basile condemned the act and everything has been done to keep Manhunt users from jumping ship... but the question remains where is our gay money going? And I know a lot of us feel betrayed by the act. Myself included.

So many of my friends and some of my fans wonder, Steve, how could you go and promote a website that supported directly or indirectly an anti-gay conservative agenda? How can you help raise $3000 to protect gay marriage one weekend then do this the next? Well guys, I am still conflicted, but here's what would have happened if I pulled out. The club would have suffered. And someone would have been stiffed the cost of my airline travel which was booked and non refundable. Do I do that to the fans and club owners? No I can't. And then I considered the Manhunt employees who hired me, managed my trips and worked hard for me to get 4 gigs this year... they didn't have to book me. Make the weekend a hell for them? In many ways we're in the same predicament.

Now that I fulfilled my professional obligations and I just a consumer again- I am mostly likely done with Manhunt, at least for now until the dust settles and they can convince me its safe to log on again... for now its log off. For me it's an issue of trust and betrayal. Lastly, I wanted to say one of the good things about being an American is that we have the freedom to choose. Was Jonathan Crutchley wrong for his political beliefs? That's not the question... its a free country. Personally, I have a hard time understanding how a gay person can be a Republican in this age. Not that the Democrats are 100% where they should be either... back to the point, I understand and protect the freedom of choice. Crutchley made his choice. And we as consumers need to make smart choices also. No hard feelings.

Enjoy these photos from the Charlotte Eagle event.
They have a great bar! I'd come back to Charlotte ANYTIME for these guys!!

Charlotte Eagle would like you to know this DIDN'T happen at their bar

I for one respect your choices Steve. You didn't make innocent people suffer for one person's decision, and that person will know you wont support his choices in the future.

Steve, that last photo is obsene and offensive. It is so bad it immediately started to turn me to stone and made me want to pump of-the-fensive right on top of you. You are indeed a bad boy. That bare butt needs a good spanking with my large hand.

I think you did the right thing.

After all, you arent responsible for the head guys donation - but you did fulfill your fans desires and give some head.

Good man.

BTW Steve - a question for you.

As an adult actor, do you find that it impacts or enhances your private sex life?

You seem to have a great time at these fan fests. Is it easy for you to keep public and private separate?

Steve I have to agree with Wesley and I think it's a great thing you did keeping your booking despite your personal objections to the political morals of one of the owners of manhunt.
It's not often these days you find someone thinking of others before themselves these day and it certainly looks like Karma paid you back in the photo that wasn't taken in the bar :P

Nice job, Steve, I think you just managed to verbal beat the crap out of anyone who's ever said that porn stars are stupid. Obviously, you took the time to consider all those involved, and I think you made the right choice.

And for the record? John McCain is a fucking zombie. I'm serious! We have proof! If he's elected, he'll bring about Zombie Apocalypse, and we can all kiss our frontal lobes goodbye.

I am glad you honored your booking. One of the top guys of Manhunt supported McCain, but there are many other liberal gay folks who work there. And I'm not entirely comfortable with ostracizing anyone with right-wing leanings. It reminds me too much of what happened to the Dixie Chicks a few years back when they came out with left-wing leanings, and I didn't like that. We all gotta live together, even people who disagree with us. I respect anyone who makes a stand for true plurality.
